Microsoft 365 – New Product Names

Some of the Office 365 plans will change names and become a part of the Microsoft 365 family. The change will happen automatically on April 21, 2020.

New Microsoft 365 offerings for small and medium-sized businesses

In the last few years, Office 365 plans were extended with new apps and services, and more will be added in the upcoming months. That was one of the reasons why Microsoft decided to rename its services.

  • Office 365 Business Essentials → Microsoft 365 Business Basic.
  • Office 365 Business Premium → Microsoft 365 Business Standard.
  • Microsoft 365 Business → Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
  • Office 365 Business and Office 365 ProPlus → Microsoft 365 Apps. To distinguish these two, they will have the suffix “for business” and “for enterprise”.

At this time, prices and features will remain the same.

Which Office 365 plans will not change names?

Office 365 – Working from Home

Due to the COVID-19 situation, a large number of employees have had to resort to working remotely from home, including 3 PRO. It’s important for all of us to be available to our clients and business partners.

We would like to single out three things that allow us to work smoothly: online Teams meetings, email communication, and document collaboration.

Online Meetings within the Teams client

The Teams app helps us to chat and make calls during work hours. Also, it allows us to stay in touch with our clients, which is critical in our line of work.

We’ve been holding online meetings for a long time, as we work with organizations around the world. Thanks to high-quality audio, video, and screen sharing, the app allows us to keep our interaction at a quality level.

Email Communication

Office 365 gives us the possibility to read and answer emails from any location, so there is practically no difference compared to working from the office. Along with calls, email is one of our main channels of communication.

Document Collaboration

If you store your Excel sheets, Word documents and PowerPoint presentations in OneDrive for Business or SharePoint, you can collaborate on them simultaneously with your colleagues. All co-authors must have permission to access and edit the documents, of course. Sharing is easy: the first method is to copy and send a direct link to them, and another way is to click on the Send button to share access via email.

How can we help?

3 PRO can provide:

  • Licenses according to your needs.
  • Implementation and configuration of the Office 365 system.
  • Education for needed services that are part of the Office 365 plan.

We are here to help. Do not hesitate to contact us for more information.

Microsoft Teams Novelties

The Teams app has become the center of today’s team collaboration. It has a ton of features to meet any organization’s business needs. Microsoft listens to their users, and that’s why every month they present new functionalities.

Outlook and Teams integration

From now on, you can share an email conversation with your colleagues by clicking on the “Share to Teams” option inside the Outlook client. This can also include attachments. The opposite is possible as well: sharing a Teams conversation via an Outlook email.

Targeted Communication

Tags help to communicate with a subgroup of people that are part of a team. All you have to do is @mention the tag name in a post. Everyone who is assigned to that specific tag will get a notification.

Pin your apps!

Pin your frequently used apps to the Teams app bar.
Find the wanted app, right-click on it, and select “pin”.

Calling and Meetings: Live captions

Live captions are now generally available for Teams meetings. They transcribe what people are saying in real-time.

It’s an excellent feature for people that have problems with hearing, or for those that are located in loud places, such as airports, etc.
