The new version of Office 2016 for Windows desktops is available today. It is the full-featured set of Office apps, best suited for PC’s with a keyboard and mouse.
For Office 365 Personal and Home users, Office 2016 apps are available via the Office.com portal. Customers with Volume Licensing agreements will be able to download the new version of Office starting from October 1 via the Volume Licensing Servcice Center (VLSC).

- Insights (powered by Bing)
- Version History improvements
- Improved grammar checker
- Power Pivot improvements
With this release comes the Data Loss Prevention, additional document coauthoring capabilities, new navigation support, files syncing to OneDrive, integration with Power BI, and more.
Updates
The updating scheme is similiar to the one available for Windows 10. Office 365 ProPlus customers will recieve the Current Branch scheme with new feature releases and security updates on a monthly basis. The other model is called Current Branch for Business which will offer updates every four months, with monthly security updates.
